Tommy
Wow, long time no post. Has it really been almost a year? Jeez...Anyway, a lot has changed since I've last posted. Back at Titmouse working on Brad Neely's "China, IL." Check it out this Fall on Adult Swim.
I have LOADS of work I need to post, but today, I did a quick sketch of one of my favorite reptilians:
TOMMY WISEAU
You might know him from such films as "The Room" and "The House That Dripped Blood on Alex."
My theory is that Tommy is a Noble Reptilian trying to form a cult following through his strange and alluring filmmaking process. Supporting evidence: his body structure, his facial structure, his strange accent, his odd behaviors and thought patterns. Tommy Wiseau = 100% Reptilian Royalty.

Goose and Pelican
So, I realized how hideous that design was in the last post and decided to redesign him into "Goose." "Pelican" went back to the original doodle.
They are friends. And I think also spacemen...

Pelican?
So I kinda dug that one guy I drew in Toon Boom and I've decided to develop him a bit.
The first name that popped into my head was "Pelican" for some reason. But that name makes no sense at all...
Now that I look at the original design though, I'm not digging the new one as much....
Also, don't know if I should give him ears or not...

Toon Boom
So I've been learning Toon Boom for a new pilot I'm going to be working on...
Even though I'll still always be a Flash guy, I have to say - drawing in Toon Boom is like sex upon sex.
You work at a low res vector line that rasterizes at export and makes everything look like hot sexy sausage.
Also, the low opacity brush works how it does in Photoshop. So your lines get darker as you draw on top of them more and more (unlike Flash). Here's a random doodle I did today.

First Color Test for Monster Office
So... it's been about 2 months since I've finished the animatic for Monster Office,
and I haven't done squat on it until now!
As hard as I tried to keep the thing black and white, I threw some color on it and realized that color makes everything look better. However, I am still not fully confident in my color skills...
So I decided to get the wonderful Brittney Bailey to do this color test for me.
I have to say - I'm really digging the feel:
*She added the icing and sprinkles on the donut - a very nice touch indeed.
This background still needs a ton of detail, but in terms of mood, I think it does a good job at conveying what Monster Office should feel like.
Random Shite
Here are some more rando's:
Robert DeTato
(essentially a potato who always quotes Robert DeNiro lines)
Weird comic book cover-ish design for my friend and old bandmate:
Daniel Asselin, Ghost Boy of the San Joaquin.
(A Ghost Boy short comic may follow...)

Been A While...
Haven't posted anything in a while now...
Been busy working at Bento Box Entertainment on a pilot for MTV.
Looks like they're going to be keeping me on development for a little while, and I'm super grateful for that!
I have some drawings from the zoo I've been planning on putting up, but need to find some time to scan them all..
Anyway, here are some random work doodles. Enjoy.

It's been a long long long time... doo doo doo doodoo
If you don't get that Beatles reference, it's ok, I still love you.
It's been a while since I posted anything, but thats only because I have put together a new portfolio!
My film is coming along as well (although I'm about 3 weeks behind schedule...).
Check out that link to my portfolio, here are some pieces from it:

The Ghost Boy of San Joaquin
Just a concept sketch I did for my friend Dan Asselin who I used to play drums for in NYC.
He goes by the name "Ghost Boy of the San Joaquin."
Get it?
I am going to play more with different poses/expressions eventually for future posters.

I have just begun working on the animatic and will finish the film hopefully very soon...

HEYYYOOOO
So, it's been a while...
14 hour days at Titmouse for 2 and a half weeks straight probably had something to do with it...
Check out what we've been working on:
Did a little drawing in Flash just for the heck of it.
